Load cell wiring connection.

When connecting a 6 wire load to a 4 wire system the sense wires should be connected to the same place as the input wires. It is a common misconception that the possibility to sense the actual voltage at the load cell is the only difference between 4 wire and 6 wire load cells. Wiring the amp to the dataq unit any suitable analog to digital converter may be used to convert the analog output of the load cell amplifier to a digital signal. A six wire cable besides having excitation and signal lines also has and sense lines.

The sense wires of the 6 wire load cell can be connected to the sense terminals of the weight indicator to measure and adjust the amplifier on the actual voltage of the load cells. A load cell may have a cable with four or six wires.
